The European Union is firmly committed to sustainability and CO\u2082 reduction. One of the most drastic measures in this is the introduction of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).<\/b> This regulation has a direct impact on the import of aluminium within the EU and therefore also affects many of our customers.<\/b> <\/p>\n

What is CBAM?<\/h3>\n

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)<\/strong> is an instrument of the European Union that aims to prevent companies outside the EU from producing more cheaply due to less strict climate rules. The mechanism imposes a CO\u2082 tax on imported products<\/strong> from sectors that consume a lot of energy and emit CO\u2082 \u2013 including aluminium<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
