Alu4S™ – High Strength Aluminium Alloys
Alu4S™ – High Strength Aluminium Alloys
The Alu4S™ series is a group of high-strength aluminium alloys that have been specially developed for demanding applications. These alloys combine high mechanical performance with good machinability and a wide range of processing options. Thanks to the wide range: from thin sheets to thick sheets as well as coils, Alu4S alloys™ find their way into defence, aviation, automotive, sports and mechanical engineering.
Core benefits
- High strength: tensile strengths up to approx. 530 MPa (depending on type, temper and thickness).
- Optimal formability: available in T0/T4 for complex deformation processes and then heat treated to T6/T651.
- Excellent machinability: all variants are designed for precise CNC machining and tooling.
- Welding properties: most types are very good TIG/MIG weldable with common filler alloys (AA 5183, 5356, 5280).
- Corrosion resistance: from good to very good, depending on type and environment (continental climate, industrial or maritime).
- Surface treatment: technical anodising is possible in almost all variants; Decorative anodizing ranges from moderate to good.
Our history
Euralco Europe B.V. was founded in 2005 from the industry, with a clear focus on quality, service and technical expertise. Since then, we have specialized in high-performance 1000, 2000, 5000, 6000 and 7000 series alloys, which are used in demanding products worldwide. Through years of cooperation with customers and rolling mills, we have built up in-depth knowledge of alloy-specific properties, production processes and logistics solutions.
Alu4S™
The Alu4S™ series includes various high-strength aluminium alloys, each with its specific properties and areas of application. For example, Alu4S-15™ offers high strength and optimal formability, ideal for safety shoes, body armor and military bridges, while Alu4S-18™ combines extra corrosion resistance with strength for bicycle motorcycle parts such as tooth and sprockets. Alu4S-25™ and Alu4S-26™ deliver excellent formability and tear resistance, with Alu4S-26™ being specifically suited for thicker sheets in logistics applications such as pallets and air freight containers. For applications where strength and corrosion resistance come together, such as sprockets, personal protection and air cargo containers (ULD), Alu4S-28™ is the right choice. The latest generation of alloys, Alu4S-35™ and Alu4S-38™, combine high strength with good weldability and corrosion resistance and are widely used in air freight, bicycles and armor plating, among others.
In addition, Alu4S also offers unique variants™ for specialized applications. Alu4S-44™ combines properties from existing ranges into a high-performance alloy with excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is available up to 80 mm thick. Alu4S-51™ consists of thick plates with uniform strength and excellent machinability, perfect for molds, hydraulic parts and tooling. Finally, there is Alu4S-60™ HF-HS, an advanced 6000 series alloy with exceptional strength after artificial aging, which is widely used for safety parts, automotive and climbing.
