Advantages of aluminium in yacht building
Aluminum is the ideal choice for yacht building applications due to its unique properties. It is lightweight, resulting in higher speed and better fuel economy. At the same time, aluminium is easy to process, durable and corrosion-resistant, which is essential for the long lifespan of (luxury) yachts. In addition, the use of aluminium offers design freedom for architects and designers, allowing designers to harness limitless creativity, enabling complex shapes and achieving a 40 per cent weight reduction compared to steel. The choice for aluminium is quickly made.
Optimized roller recipe
Euralco has years of experience and cooperation with both large and small aluminium yacht builders and renowned rolling mills. For aluminum yacht building, the 5083 alloy is mainly used. Through in-depth expertise, Euralco has further refined the recipe for yacht building sheet material in collaboration with rolling mills. As a result, we are one of the few suppliers able to supply mirror-flat and low-tension sheets that can be set much sharper than the standard prescribes. This results in a more accurate and superior finish and performance of (luxury) yachts as well as significantly less failure during the construction phase.
Customization and inventory management
Our sheet material naturally complies with European Standard 515, 573 and 485, whereby we ensure that the hardness is in the lower limit and the elongation in the upper limit of the European standard. We supply plates from stock with 3.1 or LRS 3.2 factory certificates, so short delivery times are no problem at all. In addition, we offer the flexibility to supply our sheet material in different material states such as H111, H116 and H321, in customer-specific thicknesses, widths and lengths. At Euralco, we do not shy away from 2.5m wide slabs of 10m long.
In addition to the supply of individual plates, Euralco also offers complete laser-cut, plasma-cut, water-cut and milled cutting packages through our network, in any desired thickness and size, so that customers can immediately get started with their hull construction projects.
Unburdening the customer
To completely unburden our customers, we supply complete hull construction kits (milled, plasma or laser cut) including double-sided marking and 2D & 3D molding. In this way, we offer a total package of tailor-made solutions that meet the specific requirements of each yacht building project. By means of specialized software, we nest the kit parts extremely accurately and efficiently in each plate. With each quotation you will receive a complete nesting report from Euralco, so that you can see in an overview which and that each part is optimally nested, how much sheet material is required and what the cutting costs per net kilogram are. Completely transparent.
If desired, we are happy to expand our services by even taking care of the complete hull construction. So we supply a cutting kit to weld a boat.
