Aluminium for industry
Plate, bar and mould plate for mechanical engineering, machining and plate processing
Euralco Europe supplies aluminium for industry: plate, coil, bar and extrusions to EN standards, and mould plate in the original branded grades Alumold® and Hokotol®. Our customers are machine builders, component suppliers, plate processors and mould makers who buy aluminium to fixed specifications and in recurring volumes. Supply comes from production through our international production network, with a 3.1 inspection certificate to EN 10204 as standard and 3.2 on request.
When you source aluminium for industry through Euralco, any combination of alloy, temper and size within the EN standards can be supplied from production, from the minimum order quantity. That lets you match the material to your process rather than the other way round: stress-relieved stretched plate for machining, flat plate and coil for cutting and bending, and mould plate with uniform properties through the full thickness for mould making.
Light, easy to machine and thermally conductive
Aluminium for industry offers three clear advantages over steel: it weighs about a third as much, machines considerably faster and conducts heat far better. In mechanical engineering that means lighter frames, moving parts with less mass and shorter machining times. In mould making, the high thermal conductivity shortens cooling and therefore cycle times. Aluminium also resists corrosion, anodises easily and is fully recyclable.
For large-volume buyers: fixed specification, planned supply
If you buy aluminium for industry for ongoing production series, consistent material quality matters more than any single batch. For each project we agree the alloy, temper, tolerances and certification, so every delivery meets the same specification. Deliveries are scheduled in consultation with you, including call-offs in partial lots over a longer period. You combine the advantages of a production batch with supply that follows your own production planning.
For plate processors: plate and coil for cutting and bending
For plate processors, aluminium for industry has to perform on the cutting table and the press brake. In laser, plasma and waterjet cutting and in press-brake bending, flatness, surface quality and dimensional accuracy decide the result. We supply aluminium plate in standard and customer-specific formats, and coil for cutting to length in-house, in the alloys and tempers your customers specify, such as 5083 for welded structures and 6082 for structural parts. Would you rather receive cut parts ready to use? See our aluminium machining services.
For the machining industry: plate and bar for CNC machining
In milling and turning, the material determines how stable a part remains. Stretched plate in temper T651 has low residual stress, so the workpiece distorts less after machining. For structural components, machinists buying aluminium for industry often choose 6082 T651. For highly loaded, high-precision parts, 7075 T651 plate or 7075 bar is the better fit. For exceptional strength requirements there is the Alu4S™ range.
Aluminium mould plate for mould making: Alumold® and Hokotol®
For moulds and dies we supply aluminium mould plate in the grades Alumold® and Hokotol®: high-strength 7000-series plates, stress-relieved and with uniform properties through the full thickness. For injection, blow and vacuum-forming moulds they are an efficient alternative to tool steel. Euralco supplies the original branded products, with certificate.
| Product | Characteristic | Typical application |
|---|---|---|
| Alumold® 400 | All-round grade, excellent machinability | Prototype moulds, thermoforming, medium-sized series |
| Alumold® 500 | Higher strength and hardness, longer tool life | Injection moulds for larger series, blow and RIM moulds |
| Hokotol® | High, uniform hardness through the thickness, excellent polishability | Moulds with high-gloss or optical surfaces, precision parts |
| 7075 T651 | High strength, to EN 485-2 | Mould components, fixtures, machine parts |

Certification and traceability
Every delivery of aluminium for industry comes with a 3.1 inspection certificate to EN 10204 as standard, stating the chemical composition and mechanical properties per cast. A 3.2 certificate with independent inspection is available on request. Chemical composition follows EN 573-3; the mechanical properties of plate and bar follow EN 485-2 and EN 755-2.
Frequently asked questions about aluminium for industry
Which forms of aluminium for industry does Euralco supply?
Plate, coil, bar and extrusions to EN standards, and mould plate in the original grades Alumold® and Hokotol®. Any combination of alloy, temper and size is supplied from production, from the minimum order quantity.
Which aluminium alloy is best for machining?
The 7000 series (such as 7075 T651) and the 6000 series (such as 6082 T651) machine well, with short chips and a clean surface. Softer 5000-series alloys tend to smear during machining. The right choice depends on strength, weldability and finishing.
Is aluminium mould plate an alternative to tool steel?
For many plastic moulds, yes: aluminium machines faster, dissipates heat faster and weighs less. For extreme wear or very large series, tool steel can still be the better choice.
What is the difference between Alumold® and Hokotol®?
Alumold® 400 and 500 focus on the balance between strength, machinability and tool life. Hokotol® stands out for its high, uniform hardness through the full plate thickness, which makes it particularly suitable for moulds with polished surfaces.
What does temper T651 mean?
The material is solution heat-treated, stress-relieved by stretching and artificially aged. Stretching reduces residual stress, so the plate stays dimensionally stable during machining.
Can Euralco supply machined parts?
Yes. Through our network of certified partners we supply laser-cut, plasma-cut, waterjet-cut and milled parts. See aluminium machining.
How do I request a project quotation?
When requesting aluminium for industry, state the alloy, temper, dimensions, quantity, required certificate and delivery schedule. You can calculate the tonnage beforehand with our aluminium weight calculator.
Global sourcing and supply
At Euralco Europe B.V. we believe that quality, security of supply and competitive pricing are the result of a strong international supply chain. That is why we source our aluminium worldwide through our international production network of carefully selected producers. We always look for the best option for our customers, whether that means material from the Netherlands, elsewhere in Europe or other parts of the world.
Our international production network
Through our international production network we can:
- Extrude profiles in the 6000 and 7000 series (including 6061, 6082, 7010, 7075 and 7175), custom-designed to our customers' requirements.
- Supply plate and coil from production, including special widths and stress-relieved grades for yacht building and shipbuilding.
- Process coils by decoiling, slitting and cutting to length, so we deliver exactly the dimensions our customers need in their production.
- Offer advanced processing through specialised service centres, such as laser-cut kits, machined parts and surface treatments.
By working with both large international producers and specialised niche producers, we combine the advantages of scale with the flexibility of custom production.
